To increase performance or responsiveness, scaling can be applied to specific resource. This KB article will explaing how to scale you Azure App Service. This article is part of a series of Scaling recommendations.
About Scaling your App Service
There are two workflows for scaling, scale up and scale out, and this article explains the scale up workflow.
- Scale up: Get more CPU, memory, disk space, and extra features like dedicated virtual machines (VMs), custom domains and certificates, staging slots, autoscaling, and more. You scale up by changing the pricing tier of the App Service plan that your app belongs to.
- Scale out: Increase the number of VM instances that run your app. You can scale out to as many as 30 instances, depending on your pricing tier. App Service Environments in Isolated tier further increases your scale-out count to 100 instances. For more information about scaling out, see Scale instance count manually or automatically. There, you find out how to use autoscaling, which is to scale instance count automatically based on predefined rules and schedules.
Scaling your App Service Plan
- In your browser, open the Azure portal.
- Locate any of your App Service app an open the App Service app page. Typically, these are called.
- In your App Service app page, from the left menu, select Scale Up (App Service plan).
- Choose your tier, and then select Apply. Select the different categories (for example, Production) and also See additional options to show more tiers.

SITTARD – Colleqtive Apps for Retail opent per 1 januari een nieuwe vestiging in Sittard-Geleen. Op deze locatie zullen de Nederlandse software ontwikkelingen voor Retail Apps gevestigd worden. Niels van Golden, algemeen directeur Colleqtive, vertelt: “Door het groeiend aantal medewerkers uit de regio Zuid-Limburg was het openen van een nieuwe locatie een logische stap.
